Hi Judith,
I am glad you felt a sense of spirituality when looking at this photo. This is exactly what I felt when I stood in front of those arches that morning just after it rained a bit. I was awed by the beauty that was created by the layers of cloud with different shades of grey and the hint of sun peeking through the clouds on the right. The hint of sun was the hope for a nice day. I spent several minutes appreciating the beauty.
I always find serenity in the spirit of Nature. It is vast, powerful and its beauty is reflected through unparalleled shades of colors, shapes and design. When I look at a leafless tree in the winter I see beauty in the shape of the trunk and branches. It looks like a dancer whose body is balanced by the angle of stretched hands and feet.
I am glad that you and your husband are planning to see sunrise. I do all my running in early morning. The sunrise in the autumn is really beautiful in the Bay area in California.

Thanks Georgianne for your comments. I lowered the light inside the arches so that the focus of the viewer go more on outside where the beautiful shapes and shades of grey color of the clouds and the mountains are on display. That is what attracted my eyes and I tried to convey my interpretation of the scene through this photo. |

Thanks Judy for your comments. It was about 9 am. I am facing the east when I took the photo and that is why the inside of the arches have less light. This allowed me to see and appreciate the grey clouds and the mountains. The interruption of the view by the arches made this ordinary scene interesting to look. I wanted the viewers eyes to go behind the arches and that's why I kept the exposure low. |

Hi Jose,
Love this photo of the bride with dramatic cloud in the background. You positioned the bride at a spot where the reflection of the bride will be distinct. I zoomed in to see the reflection of the bride and I loved it. Since the title of the photo is 'The Bride' I trimmed to focus on the bride. Let me know what you think. |
