I agree a great use of supplemental lighting in an outdoor scene. Very creative and expertly crafted. |

Can't get any better IMO. My guess is this was done indoors or on a very calm day. |

I agree with Murphy that the shallow dof works very effectively for this subject. Nice exposure as well. |

Thanks. Sometimes the most simple capture and post processing works best. I need to remember that. |

Very well done Murphy. I think the vignette works very well and the multi color blooms on one plant is usually related to available nutrients. My only suggestion is to remove the partial blossoms along the left and right sides. This might increase the viewer's focus. Great dof. |

Very dramatic geometric image Vincent and well done. I don't mind the background as much as the green foliage at the bottom. Nice observation of a simple scene. |

Thanks for the kind words. I have never had much luck capturing birds in flight on a gimbal/tripod so I choose to do handheld. With that said my kit is relatively light and if I used a big prime lens I might have to use a tripod. So if you can use a light kit your success handheld with a fast shutter >2000/sec should get the results you desire. |

I too use to raise Bettas, I agree the black background sets this off wonderfully. |

I like the branch diagonal color/tone to the perched subject. Perhaps a little shadow lightening on the subject's head will make it pop a little more. Nice composition Ginny. |
