I like the experimentation and the result is unique to say the least. I think you pulled it off. A flame from the bottom kissing the flower might be kind of cool as well. |

I agree with Murphy and to carry on his point I think a Gaussian blur of the background and overall darkening might provide more definition of a fine composition. |

You might give a circular ICM and try and see if the colors move in relation to the subject's shape. Or a radial blur in PS might accomplish the same effect. |

Thanks Murphy, this was a 66 image stack and as you pointed out I missed the front focus a bit. I agree the snow does not add anything and I might just clone it our of the lower corner. |

Very creative Mo and nice composition. My only minor concern is the upper right hand corner with the straight diagonal. Minor issue, but line could be softened a bit otherwise very nice. |

Very nice composition Vincent. I would tone the background a smidge as well as the highlights below the insect. For me the image has great dof, and overall color. Well done. |

Very impactful image. Glad you used almost the full focal length of the zoom so you did not have to get too close. |

Great Spoonbill Ginny. The exposure, composition and reflection make this image. |
