Thanks folks. I think it is also attributed to jpeg compression. It would be great if postings could use the heic format. Not only are we getting loss of gradation but also a loss of color fidelity. |

Very nice lighting and technical processing. I am curious why you chose process C in helicon. 95% of the time I use B. |

Unfortunately, I don't recognize the tree, but my plant ID software says it is a Kigelia africana, Sausage Tree. I think this is correct after plugging it into my online resources. You should see fruit that hangs like a tan sausage once the flowers set. Thanks for bringing this one to our group. |

Nicely composed and exposed using your Iphone. Just enough dof to make the subject stand out from the plant foliage. Maybe a bit darker in the background, but only a minor issue IMO. |

Velvia is/was such a great media. I really like the exposure on the lupine. Well composed and nicely processed from the scan. |

Very nice Vincent. I do not have much to offer beyond Murphy's suggestion. Perhaps the unopened blooms could be brighter to keep them with the subject once the background is darkened. |

Thanks for your thoughtful comments and edits. I did not think of using daze via a radial mask. On that same strategy I also opened the eyes via a curve. Between my the two radial mask it is a marked improvement. |

Barbara I based my comment on the original image submitted for comparison. You would be the only one to know what looks right and I'm viewing the image via a jpeg and limited resolution as required by the site. Bottom line well done |

Very nice image capture and excellent with the foreground reflection. My only suggestion is to tone down the contrast a bit on the subject as it is a bit crunchy to my eyes. |

Nice detail and composition Ginny. I might suggest that you darken the very bright background a bit just so the eye moves to the subject more. I would not go too dark as the subject would get lost. |

Thanks Ginny. I did brighten the eye but the fog between the subject and lens creates a very low contrast brightness so I had to dial it back. I used exposure, shadow and the black sliders in LR via a Radial filter. Perhaps someone with more skills can suggest a better remedy. |
