Thank you Marge. The wider the aperture the more images you need to take in response to the shallower DoF. This was a 40 + stack, so that is pushing it. The other trade off is when shooting so stopped down diffraction rears it's ugly head. So I try to shoot as wide open as possible, but many factors determine what is practical. |

I agree with Murphy's comments and this is a nice Pink Naked Lady, a great late summer bloom in the the Bay Area. As well as a darkening of the background the application of a gaussian blur might mitigate the somewhat distracting background. A slight crop on the left might further emphasize the subject as well. Nicely done. |

Using the color wheel might help with this composition. I find it interesting and compelling, but not sure the colors actually work for me. I might try to add yellow to the (I believe it is a Barley grass spp) see head as it would be more complimentary than the green. Just my view though. Good creativity. Pull the weed now though or suffer next year. |

I like the lighting and framing for the subject. I might clone out the shoot on the lower right and use the light on the stem to lead the viewer into the subject. I like how the image fades into the website background, but that is obviously a personal opinion. |

Fun image, but not sure the framing compliments the subject as it is kind of in between. I say that as previously stated by Murphy that the green distracts from the pink flower and could be cropped out easily. Perhaps a tight crop of the center of the flower, which is reasonably sharp might be interesting. Nice color and exposures. |

Very nice composition and framing. Nice complimentary color for the background. I might have given the bee a little more prominence in the image via sharpening or a slight increase in exposure, but that is up to your artistic intent. |

Very well done with nice dof and background. Good exposure and saturation. I agree with the somewhat distracting elements on the right and left sides, which could be easily cloned or content aware removed. The other option would be darken them so they do not dominate the background. |

Very nice composition and exposure for the Egret which can easily be blown out. The three white areas in the background are distracting to my eye and could be easily darkened in LR. Tough subject to get good exposure and well done. |
