Thank you Beverly for your research and work on the image. I ended up taking the stick out and leaving the out of focus flowers as I believe they add a sense of dimension since they are complimentary in tone and color. I think your version would print really well as a giclee canvass photo |

You need a high shutter speed because when shooting macro even the slightest breeze is exaggerated. Focus stacking is real easy with an AF lens and using the Sony BT remote. This is a manual lens so it is a little tricky, but not really hard. Wind and changing light are the biggest hurdles. You can use PS to process, but I use Zerene as it makes masking easier. I like the highlight on the birds head. Also, I find odd numbers (5 stakes) add to compositions unless you are trying to frame the subject IMO. Nicely done Dan |

Really like the dark background so it shows off the orchids. My only comment would be to add a little more DoF so the back flower is as sharp as the others. You could focus stack or increase the f stop to 9 or so. |
