Thanx everyone. I went for an extreme crop and agree that especially for that, the radial filter would definitely help |

I agree with the posted comments, and perhaps a severe crop might help and perhaps using something like gigapixel to enlarge the image first before you crop. BIF take fast shutter speeds, IMO 2000th of a sec is minimal, and if you can set your camera to Auto ISO. |

I shoot and print B&W about 30% and this is a very nice a subtle image. The blending of the background and the subject is a bit of a challenge for you to isolate the subject. Selective masking of the subject and darkening the background might help the viewer to focus immediately on the subject. Nice choice to go with B&W for this. |

I agree, the subject is great and allowing the bird to have more room toward the left would provide a better story. Even stationary birds have very fast movements, I have found at least 500 and preferably 1000th of a sec shutter speed freezes "stationary" birds. I like the complimentary colors alot. |

Very nicely done. The only thing I might try is lowering the exposure of everything except for the subject. The subject seems to be darkest element in the image. You could go either way, lightening the subject, but I would try darkening the rest of the image first . |

Beautiful capture. As mentioned the rear flower and some of the foliage is a bit distracting. Try a Gaussian blur for those items that you feel are distracting. Perhaps the background flower and the right lower leaf. You could also just put a heavy vignette on everything but the subject. Very nice though, they are tough to keep still. |

No sure I would not have the subject centered, but a crop would help. Good near to far critical focus, with just the rear petal slightly soft. Nice exposure and color. |
