All good tips to capture backyard birds. I agree a little shadow recovery on the subject and perhaps a little vignette to emphasize the subject might draw the subject more dramatically. |

I agree the background bokeh is perfect for the subject and what a great timing capture. Beautiful side lighting. |

Really nice composition, you even caught a little catch light in its eye. The shells really define the subject and a slight vignette might even draw the eye in further. |

I really like the angle of the branches and the softness of the fog. I might try a very small crop on the bottom of the image to remove the lighter colored foliage. Very gentle and calm image. |

Gorgeous image and the people in the boat make this a very special image. I too find the drop shadow a bit distracting. |

Hello fellow group members. This is my first post and I hope I can add something relevant. For me when taking an image of a flower, I try to decide if I want the entire flower in focus or a single portion of the flower in focus. For a flower such as this Hydrangea, achieving the former is difficult due to the size of the flower and the limited depth of field when you are relatively close to the subject. The colors are perfect and the exposure is very good. I would think about the highlights at the top of the image and to me they are a bit distracting. If you focus stack that might be an alternative to achieve critical focus for the entire subject. |
