I just noticed that I sent you the version I sent to the printer, which I brighten a bit more than the version I made for the screen. So yes this is about 10% brighter than my original edit to adjust for the print. |

Actually, I played around with the color and while I know female cardinals typically appear more brownish, this is the color that comes across due to early morning light and the fact the female was more shaded and I believe the angle. I really couldn't pull much more brown out of her with the dodging I did. I believe the red is also very close to the color in the morning light, but I find most people (other than an ornithologist) react better to a little extra sat, so I think I only pushed it to about +15. It appears toned down in the print. I also tried to minimize the green on the right without removing it. This jpeg is showing I'm hitting the limit there. Perhaps it might be better to clone it out. I could remove the one twig as I did others on the side. I didn't think it detracted much but it might be worth a try to remove. I added an image from a few frames prior to this one and I really didn't like the colors that came out as I tried to make the female look brownish. The new one shows more of the bug but I lose the eye and face of the female. |
