Paul... you have to go and ask all the residents to turn on their lights to really add some pizazz... (tongue in cheek) I get the twilight feel, but I wonder what a little dodging of the buildings might produce. I might also try highlighting one or two to direct the viewers eyes to a central area. I find my eyes going right and continuing off the photo.... |

Here is a version where I dodged the castle a bit to bring it out. That's all I did to this image as I couldn't crop it, and didn't take the time for the edges |

Interesting! Since you have the camera converted, I doubt there is a color version of this shot? Doesn't matter as this one is nice. It has some aspects of Ansel Adams, that the blue sky is dark and there are great contrasts. Nice comment from Paul about the blacks. |

That's odd, as on the original only one shows up with light rooms visualize spots. Anything else is part of the clouds. |

Nice photo and I like the framing you got with the tree and foreground rocks... Except I wished the foreground was cropped just a little bit lower so that the rocks on the left were connected with the rest of the rocks and land. Try a little dodging of the shady parts of the castle to make it a bit more prominent, along with a little burning of the entire left edge and upper corner, will really direct the viewers eye. |

I like the long exposure for the water in the foreground, but my tastes, I like large waves a bit more defined and less blurred. So I might attempt several shots at various speeds and then blend them into a final composition. I agree with Paul, a second exposure for just the rock details would add a lot to the scene. |

Nice image. There is a bit of a juxtaposition between the older larger boat and newer smaller boat. Young and old? Unique colors also contribute. When I look at it I wonder how the composition might change by walking a few steps to the left to get some separation of the large boat and middle island, but still line up all the rest of water and land. I also tried flipping it horizontally, where I like the boats better (other than the lettering), however I did not like the way the projecting bits of land worked in that version. |

Just iterating... One was taken about 150 feet away, the other about 1500 feet away... With animals you get what is there. |

Coyotes are very cool animals. They have a bit of a bad image, I believe because they "howl" and scavenge around a lot, or perhaps the Roadrunner cartoons. They do keep the rodent population in check. They are a mix of grays and reds. I've included one of my previous shots which shows off the coloration a bit more. They like to "pounce" on small animals as this "airborne" attack may catch them unaware. |

I like the shot and the "moment" but I'm more left brained and so my artsy side is not overwhelming me with the high key. The black and white does make a difference and looks like something you might find on a greeting/post card. Its interesting how different approaches create differing results. |

I'm still not sure how the neck is twisted around! The bottom portion on the left is wider indicating that's coming from the body, but then the upper portion seems to curve downward, leaving you to wonder how does the head then loop up. Nice detail with the feathers. I agree with Bruce that the background could be toned down a little. |

I like the wood textures and grain. There is also several different stories, this might be telling. I do feel the snow is a bit strange as this appears as an enclosed space but obviously, has an opening for the snow to blow in. The perspective is throwing me a bit off. The cabinet/desk is slanted one way while the back corner wall and window slants differently. (perhaps due to wide angle lens) |

I just returned from the Grand Tetons, where both Black bears and Grizzlies co-exist. Although this year there seemed to be less Blacks than Grizzlies. Perhaps due to the overwhelming presence of people clamoring for bear 399 and her 4 cubs (Grizzlies). Nice title for the photo. It takes a lot of patience to try to get more than one bear to have their heads up and somewhat pointed to the camera. I totally understand your comments about difficult place to photograph. While I've found bears are out all times of the day, its still quite dark in forest areas, along with tree limbs in the way and other obstacles. And you really don't want to get too close. |
