Interesting shots and location. I have a couple other friends who made that trip but I don't recall that it was in winter. Have you tried to isolate the eagle and process just it. The reflected light (looks midday) is really overwhelming the image. Perhaps two layers, one for background the other for the subject then a final blend. I've done some work with some Texas Falconers and its an interesting skill. I didn't realize but typically a bird is only held for a year, two max and then released and a new one is caught. |

I'm thinking a crop in between the original and Isaacs. I want enough info to know its a roof. We have Turkey & Black vultures all the time around my home. In fact there is a location about a mile away where they roost in the trees and have some nests. They constantly fly around and then a group will stop for no apparent reason, but its probably either rest or some carrion nearby. Nice detail in the photo and a face only a mother could love. |

I also immediately wanted to crop the lower partial flower. Isaac did a nice job. Was the leaves that dark and blue tint? or is that due to the sun being down? Since I was not there, my mind's impression would be a bit more green and bright, but this helps push forward the bloom itself. |

Interesting affect. I might have to try it. Any particular image traits I should look for? |

I love it. I spent 3 years in Texas before seeing a live Armadillo. The photo ranches do allow you to get nice close up shots of a lot of birds and perhaps other critters. |

Here is a sharp one. However the reeds are still part of the background. If I wanted to spend more time in Post I could do something but this isn't going up on my wall. |

Actually the class taught the opposite... How to freeze BIF and make sharp images with fast shutter speed, but as a challenge to a couple of the students I gave them this challenge. I thought it wasn't bad for 15 minutes of effort. It really shows off how difficult it is with a slow shutter speed, and also the fact that if you try to cheat with Slow shutter, how difficult is becomes. But I thought this might bring up an interesting discussion. |
