Blue bonnets are bit late this year, probably due to the freeze, so mid April should be really nice. Hector at Santa Clara is a pretty good guy and then Ruth at LSR is nice. |

Yes its looking up... One side of the canyon actually is forming an arch or "roof". This was on a normal tour and hand held. The only advantage to the photographers tour (which I heard was dis-continued) it allowed you to take in a tripod and it was scheduled around prime time and supposedly allowed time to "work" an area. I believe the tribe decided they have enough interest to send in multiple tours now other than the high priced Photographers only, thus make more $$$ with more volume.
I was disappointed in the upper canyon, this is the one that gets all the media attention. The tour guide wanted to take a photo of all of us individually using our own cameras... I told her you really won't know how to shoot mine correctly to which she laughed and said I've used them all... Well she had no clue about back button focus and thus the photo of "me" was terribly out of focus. So that is the attitude of the Navajo running the operation. Push 'em thru! |

I like this one more than last month. It provided more story about the area, yet still shows off the colors, reflection, ruggedness, and blue sky. About the only thing I might do to this photo is a slight vignette. I partially agree with Isaac's crop ideas, but really like what Marie did to it... |

As I mentioned in my comment to Bruce, This looks like Texas a couple weeks ago. (Quite unusual) We had a lot of Robins stop by during the snow. Since they usually eat worms, it was odd to see them hitting my seed feeder. Nice cropping for composition. Just hint of red to give you an idea of the species, but that's not the point of the photo, it the story of "Hey you looking at me" or "give me a sexy look". This could be a female so perhaps the latter. |

My local camera club has gone crazy with birds recently... mainly because of the very unusual prolonged freeze in Texas and everyone worrying about them getting too cold. This is a nice photo, nice detail, and color and I like the way you subdued the background. I bet it looks great as a print. I was also wondering how it would look in a portrait crop, but Isaac's square looks nice. |

I love this and agree, the color is what makes this shot. The early morning pink glow and just a kiss of sunlight hitting the flowers, and a single flower in the forefront.
I agree with Isaac's crop recommendation. |
