Like Michael, I prefer the original composition. The flow of shapes and textures from sharp and gritty to lost in haze was diminished in the final image. And the small boy fits into the scene better than the well dressed lady. I agree with the recommendation of warm toning by Stephen and Michael. |

These brighter versions are more realistic, but I like the moonlit feel of the darker main image. |

Thanks Jim. I took the owners a framed 11x17 print of the color version, and bought a pie for thanksgiving desert. |

Enhanced texture and tone contrasts make a much "stronger" image than the original. Good work! |

Against a background of blue sky a color image would have worked well. With similar colors in the behind, your short focal length and mono processing succeeds. I suggest a tighter crop. |

This is a good reminder that hard shadows which would ruin a color photo can add interest to a mono image. |
