You succeeded in deemphasizing the water and rocks, but I prefer the original framing. The seals smooth, curved forms fit their aquatic environment and contrast with the jagged rocks, a little more of these elements would add to image. Good work with the tones and textures. |

I know it is a sailboat but anyone else sees just a smudge - I'll take it out. |

Mine is the third compliment on your BW version, and interest in seeing how much farther you could go. After a couple hits of cheap whisky, you could browse the darker presets in Nik or Topaz software. |

The highlights are artificially bright, they feel like studio lighting. I tried brushing in negative Highlights and a global boost to the shadows. What is good about this photo is your anticipation and planning, which cannot be adjusted later on the computer. |

This sharp after 24 focus adjustments! A concrete tripod? Whatever your magic, the result is a stunningly 3-dimensional image. I stopped and stare every time I open this file. Can I have your permission to share these images with our local camera club?
I vote for keeping the bright petals, they help the overall tone balance and lead my eye through the picture.

The background low haze helps the dark conifers stand out. Jim's added contrast at the top of the frame emphasizes the jagged skyline that gave these mountains the name "Sawtooth". The right edge feel right, but the single frame leaves me wanting to see more on the left side; did you consider taking a second overlapping shot to create a panorama? |

You have created an attractive image from a desolate scene. Good capture very skillfully processed. |
