I used the Brush tool in Lightroom's Develop module. A Google search for "Lightroom Brush Tool" will bring up many helpful guides and demonstrations, one by theluxelens.com is very good <https://www.theluxelens.com/blogs/luxe-blog/how-to-use-lightroom-adjustment-brush-tool> |

Not having had a daylight first impression, I like the dark tones. "Phlox in Moonlight" for a title? |

Good use of HDR to fill out the tonal range in the foliage. Results are more realistic than dodging and burning. |

Lots of repeating patterns (brickwork, post and rope fence, siding , rippled wakes of ducks, rows of windows) hold my attention in your monochrome. In color I see plane old red, green, blue and move on. |

The reflection doubles our view of the "decisive moment" in this scene. Great Shot! |

Your "playing around" enhanced tonal range, shapes, and textures - the Big 3 in monochrome photos. |

As nature intended the lioness blends into the background, especially in this flat light. To make her stand out more in your photograph I brushed in some negative exposure in her body, positive exposure in her eyes, and positive highlights in the paw holding her meal. And I darkened the bright parts of the carcass. |
