Your small changes have produced a big improvement. The darker tones match the dangerous slopes and threatening weather, making a stronger image. |

Intrigued by the IR photos you have shared with us recently, I have had a camera (Canon 7D) converted. (Thanks for the information you sent me.) Internet searches and my very brief experience show digital IR captures to have significantly higher contrast than our cameras and software are designed to process. Blown out highlights and apparently over sharpened textures are common in scenes like this. I am setting my IR camera for auto bracketing to process in HDR and shall post an example next month. |

Interesting choices. Clicking through images on a screen, I would prefer Tom's separated version. But in a print the larger image would be more inviting to linger over and enjoy the depth you captured in this scene. In both versions the BWvesion is more powerful than the muted colors. |

Fascinating photo. I concur with all Tom's praise, make a large print and display it proudly. |

I always learn something from your images. This month your lesson is the importance of blacks in a high key image. Everybody gets eyelashes and pupils dark, but your deep tones along the left side and under the chin emphasize the unique shape of her face. And I like the range of textures: wicker, jeans, hair, skin. |
