At your latitude sunny winter days provide side light and long shadows from dawn til dusk. And snow on the ground is an enormous reflector that keeps shadow detail visible. Good exposure, nice and sharp, interesting building - lots to like in this photo. |

Your capture of the violently churned water, which stands out better in BW than color, shows the action in this scene. I agree with Tom and Jim that this is a great photo. |

Her closed eyes are perfect for the dream-like mood of your high key treatment. And the wicker texture of the chair separates it from her skin even with minimal tone difference. |

The longer exposure in the color shot smoothed out the water, adding both texture and tone contrast with the rocks. Your mono shot at the same exposure would have looked like Tom's conversion, a beautiful BW image. |
