The rim lighting on the ears and Tom's enhancement of the eyes show this predator is concentrating on you. Darkening the body and face (masking the eyes) could make the wolf appear more menacing. |

My wife, and perhaps your judge, is annoyed by BW images of flowers. But I like monochrome's emphasis on these complex patterns and structures. This is a good one. |

This is an instructive example of creating a powerful BW image from the lines, shapes and textures in an ordinary color photo. Good vision and processing skills. |

Sorry for the delay in responding, I appreciate the improvements you made to this image. My problem was failing to remember that shadows under a bright blue sky sky are blue. Working with LR's global color sliders, as I darkened the sky to make the clouds stand out their shadows turned into globs of spilled ink that I couldn't recover satisfactorily with LR's adjustment brush. I need to start over in Photoshop and use masks for local toning. I'll post the next version in a new comment tomorrow. |

The theme for the March meeting of our local camera club was LINES. This would have been the Photo of the Month. As Jim said, simple elements carefully arranged into an elegant image. VERY good work. |
