Tom's crop works in two ways: better ratio of trees to brush and the stronger lines in the frame match the strong lines in the image. |

Tom's HDR comment applies widely, the expanded range of contrast options in HDR work is more helpful in BW than in color. |

Bringing out the paneling lines on the roof is a small change that helps a lot. |

Looking only at the tree trunks, the fog-created transition from black and sharp to gray and soft give a sense of depth to the camera's two dimensional output. But in this scene the clutter of underbrush masks this effect. |

Your square crop and white frame work well for this photo. Lots of good textures, but the walls and roof of the church could use more detail, |

Really good work on fine structure in the fur, just the right level of highlights to keep these large areas from going flat. And your tint choice adds a surprise element to this familiar subject. |

You have created an elegantly ordered image from a chaotic smoke trail. Artistic magic!

A good example of removing color to bring out lines and shapes, the interesting elements in this photo. And the colorless treatment matches the "abandoned" mood. |
