I added a bit more color to the sky and cropped it to a 16x9. In your opinion, does it look any better? |

Wow, Stanley, your image is stunning! When I first looked at it, the rice terraces appeared to have had some painterly effect applied to them. Because the texture is so different on the terraces, it just pulls my eyes right into the image. Thanks for sharing the history of this area. |

These are all great, Jim. I think the story that's being told by being able to see the child, far outweighs the moodiness of the silhouette. Looks like you all had a fun time! |

Hi Shirley, I have seen a number of images of the iconic Ravenel bridge both at day and night, but none like yours. You have an interesting original here. Well done! |

Thanks, Martin, not sure what to do about the sky, but I do like your suggestion the best. I just don't like those trees cut off. |

Thanks, Shirley, you are so right about it being a beautiful piece of our country! As for the sky, I wish it had more color. I think the clouds would take away from the subject. |

Thanks, Piers. The sunset was beautiful but we were already headed back at that time somewhere in open water. As it was, these caves were a good hour and a half out from where the boat picked us up. |

Thanks, Jim, I had a wonderful trip. I know the sky is bland, but I find adding all those clouds distract from the real beauty of the cave. Thanks for showing it though. |

You did well, Martin, to depict this man's filthy job. I love how you brought out all the grittiness in his face and hand. My only suggestion would be to somehow make that cigarette more noticeable. |

Great image, Piers! I love the stormy sky and the glassy water. You brought the color out very well. My eyes go right to the center of the image where the setting sun is showing its last bit of light and reflections on the water. Only after resting there do I wander to the sides of the image and find the fisherman. He's nicely balanced with the bit of land on the right side. Nicely done! |

What a cool image, Jim! I love how you captured the sun in the bubble and the other water droplets coming off the apparatus that the child is using to blow the bubble. I actually like the image of the child in the original because I can see his arm and that he's holding onto the apparatus. In your edited version, I wasn't sure what was going on or whether something was attached to the child's head. Maybe try selectively darkening the shadows of his shirt but allow the viewer to see his arm and how he's holding onto the sides. |
