Thanks so much, Jim. I arranged the flowers in the vase and set it on the table and only moved a few of the flowers on the final image on the right, as they became fairly bunched together as they drooped. The image from the light pad was obviously not the original but taken about a week or so later after I'd let them dry. Tulips are very conducive to photographing on a light pad, even if they aren't dried. |

Wow! Stanley, this image is over-the-top wonderfully created! I love the blue and how the light gives motion to the dancers. Bravo to you for capturing and showing us another great image. |

Thanks for your comments, Piers. The image marked original isn't the original from these tulips, rather just a photo I made on a lightpad after they had all wilted and dried. I wouldn't have been able to put them into a vase as they would have fallen apart. I was merely trying to demonstrate just how long one can shoot the same flowers over and over again. |

My first thoughts when looking at this photo was "patterns"! Repetition works as well. There must be hundreds of students accommodated in that building for all the windows that it has. I agree, not very nice looking, but probably very functional. And yes, your image should do well in the upcoming competition. |

I like the color version better because the bit of blue on the subject's head catches my eye and keeps it coming back to him. I would try to maybe lift a bit more of the shadows around the bird's head and neck area to give it some more separation from the other birds' wings. |

I agree with Shirley that there's a bit too much sky and not enough space to the left of the boat. I am not a fan of highly saturated images, as I believe this is. To me, it does not look natural. I would desaturate the sky's blue a bit and burn some of the grasses around the boat, especially in the foreground. As the sun is setting there would be shadows from the boat on the near side. |

Wow, this is a great shot! And to think it was captured with your iPhone, in a bus, through a window with a glare. Your edits are really good, but there still is a bit of glare off the left chimney. I like the color version better. These phones are getting so terrific that it's any wonder why more of us haven't switched over. I am actually on my way to Madeline Island in Lake Superior next week for an iPhone workshop. Can't wait! |

Oh Shirley, thanks so much for your kind appreciation of my work. I, too, can relate to not getting out there to shoot because I can't stand the heat and humidity here in Florida. I love to cook and bake and I love to shoot flowers, so the natural thing for me to do is turn to still life. But you can create anything indoors. One's creation is only limited by one's imagination. Don't quit just yet, Shirley. You make some great images. |

Nice composite, Joan. To make this image stronger, I would remove the lines created by compositing each of the other images. I would also remove the needles that didn't line up when you laid one layer over the other. |

Thanks, Bob, for your instructions. Your edits to my image leave the vase suspended in air, not something that I would do, but I guess it would meet the "altered reality" definition more appropriately! |

My bad, I should have read the definition of "creativity" that is used for this category by PSA. I think the title of the category is misleading as it would have been better named, "Altered Reality". That is not my style, nor do I wish it to be so I will be leaving the group. |

Your image invokes enormous energy! I love the colors, especially the red as it signals alarms, high emotions. I agree with Joan's edits, but don't really have any other suggestions. This kind of abstraction is something I have not studied in the past. I am anxious to see more. |

I believe you accomplished your goal, Robin. The doll has a far off stare⦠a look of loss. My only comment has to do with the perspective size of the ship relative to the doll. But it is a creation and very well composed. |

Wow, Ian, I love what you've done to this image. My only suggestion would be to lighten the trees in the reflection a bit so they aren't competing with the actual trees above the water. |

Hi Brad, I'm visiting from Groups 2 and 18. I love the image of your daughter. It looks as though she's walking into a fairyland! Very creative! |
