Thank you, Stanley, for your observation. I am by no means an expert in ICM. Actually, I got to be in the mood for it to experiment with it, but as for have something in focus while the rest is out is a style that I've seen, but certainly not the precedent. Check out the ICM Community on Instagram for some beautiful totally out of focus. |

Thank you, Martin. I have seen some really wonderful images using ICM with street photography. I'm sure you would make great images, but don't get discouraged as it does take time to figure out what works best for a given scene.
As for visiting the US, I can't say I blame you one bit for not wanting to come here anytime soon. |

No, Jim, this was taken at the St John's Botanical Garden located near Hastings. If you are interested in different varieties of Palm trees, this place has one of the most varieties from all over the world. Very fascinating place to visit. Yes, there is a lot of hit or miss with ICM but there are some photographers that do nothing but ICM and have wonderful images to show for it. Karen Waller is one in particular. Just search Instagram for ICM community and you see some really beautiful images. |

Great observation of the brown Palm. Yes, I should definitely lighten it. Thank you, Piers. |

Thanks so much for your comments, Shirley. As to whether or not lessons would help, I find that it really just takes a lot of practice to discover what works and how much of it. |

I agree with everyone else's comment in that the story here is all about the gent's intense look into the young woman's face. But, I also love the woman's stance, as she's not backing down from this big guy in her face. Actually, two entirely different stories! Great street photography, Martin! |

Wow, Stanley, what a great image. As others have said, the woman brings life to the image. I love the way she appears to be peaking around the clothing and looking right at you! Thanks so much for giving us some more of the background and cultures from China. |

Nice calming image but I agree with others in the the coloring of your edits is too flat. Jim's is too aqua, but I really like Martin's mono. Nicely captured, Shirley! |

Wow, Piers, you are really masterful with those editing skills! Like Shirley, I like the color version but I do like the edits you made after Shirley and Jim's comments. It's completely different from your original edit and actually looks closer to the color version. The dog also shows much better. Wonderful job editing! |

Nice save on the exposure, Jim. The only thing I would do is crop in a bit on the sides and top. I don't find all that sparkly water necessary. |

Thanks so much, Ruth. I never had much luck getting orchids to rebloom until I moved to Florida. Orchids seem to love the humid weather here. I have several on my lanai and don't fuss with them much and they all seem happy to bloom several times a year. Your comment regarding the buds and stem is so true. I don't like to see flowers suspended in the frame. They need some grounding! |

Thanks, Charissa. Your edits are a bit over processed for my liking! The orchids lost their softness. Not my style. |

I bet your yard smells really lovely with those apple blossoms! I love the rain droplets on the front petal but I'm not sure what's going on with the petal directly behind the one with the big rain drops. It has a halo around the top side that I find very distracting. I would try adding a layer in PS and paint in a darker shade in that light triangle right above that petal. Perhaps it will help with not pulling the eye to that area. |

I like your composition of the sand dollars, Ruth. Not sure about your white balance. Was this taken as a jpeg? Also, I agree with Dorinda in that your focus seems to be on the back sand dollar. I would take the photo again and move the focus point around, maybe even try focus stacking. |

Really nice tack sharp image, Jim and the lighting is great on the hummer. You didn't say anything about the background which almost looks like you may have replaced it, but the shadows from the bird would indicate otherwise. Not sure how well you know PS and the AI capabilities, but I would add some canvas to the viewers left and the bottom so that you could fix the wing and tail that cut snipped off. |
