Thanks, Piers, for your kind words. My camera was tethered, not my tripod. I should have been more clear. Not sure I understand what you mean by increasing the distance from the straw? Did you mean to be further away from the flower or deeper in the water? |

What a fun catch. I love the subject's laughter and you captured it just at the right time. If only you were a bit more to the right that support structure may not have appeared as though it is coming out of the photographer's head. I also agree with Piers as to the crop on the bottom. The first thing I saw after the subject's laughter was the chopped off foot. I wish I had your confidence to do a bit more street photography as I really enjoy the candidness of those kinds of shots. |

What a fun day you must have had. This is a great image in color, but I agree with Martin in that the details of each rider and his horse are lost in the b&w version. I also think that the b&w version looks very crunchy because of the way the light is hitting everything. I would stick with the color version and tone down the bushes in the background as the new growth of the bushes are picking up a lot of light. As for the statue, either include the entire thing or delete it as you did. Deleting it works better for me as only after I zoomed into the photo did I realize it was a statue. Great action shot, Shirley! |

Wow, Piers, I think your original is lovely and I'm not too bothered by the house on the right. After viewing the Pano, your edit of just the left side almost feels cut-off. Maybe try AI in PS and get rid of the buildings for more trees. I love the coloring of the sky across the entire pano. Great capture! |

Wow, Jim, what an interesting image. Sorry you had to cut your visit short. I'm partial to the color version, but I agree with Martin in that it's a bit too bright. I would crop a good inch or so off the top as it serves no purpose to the image. I would burn more shadows of the two walkers to center one attention of the sun and the shadows. I do like your version of the b&w but it's a bit too contrasty for me. When I look at the image, my attention goes right to the windows of the buildings on the right and then I feel strained to see some of the details below, under the umbrellas. Keep working it because I know you'll end up with a great image. |

This is a lovely capture of a beautiful hibiscus. I like how you compose the flower within the image. I might suggest darkening the leaves a bit so that they appear a deeper green. I would also clone out the pebbles below the flower or darken them down so that they are not distracting from the flower. |

You didn't give us a preamble to your photo but I'm guessing this was shot close up as opposed to being cropped. f/8 isn't that shallow of depth of field so I'm also assuming you had a longer lens to get the compression. I'm not familiar with the Olympus cameras but I'm assuming this is a micro 4/3's format. At any rate, I think this is a nice shot of a mushroom. It shows detail and it's actually standing tall and to me, shows personality. I would try a black or dark brown background to allow a bit of separation. Nice capture, inspite of your husband wanting to hurry you along. |

Wow, what stunning work! Thanks for sharing. Your capture of the gentleman's close up work is intriguing. The lighting and detail of his work is amazing and you've captured it perfectly.

How lucky are you to live so close to Yosemite! I really like your original image and being able to cut a small portion from it to get "Iced Teeth" from it is a double win. The lighting is perfect on the icicles. Very nicely done. |

Beautiful dahlia! Who doesn't love to shoot dahlias with all their s & twirls? I like your choice of a square format and the water droplets are a real plus. I would lighten up the bottom side of the center of the flower as it's a bit in the shadows. I would also desaturate it just a tad as the color seems a bit off, at least on my monitor. Lovely capture. |
