2 Dec 24 Comment Interesting, yes, I think you're right! Dec 24th
2 Dec 24 Reply Thanks for the suggestion, Piers. Here's my version. Dec 24th
2 Dec 24 Reply Oh that does look much cleaner, Piers. Thanks for the suggestion. Dec 17th
2 Dec 24 Reply Thanks, Jim! I am going to try Piers suggestion and see if, one, I can do it, and two, whether I like it better. Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Reply Thanks so much, Martin, for your continued encouragement. I genuinely appreciate it. Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Reply Thank you, Shirley, for your observation. The butterfly was leaving the in-focus flower and the one thanks out of focus was behind the butterfly so not in the same focal plane. I believe Piers' suggestion of removing that flower would eliminate that confusion. Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Reply Thank you, Piers for your suggestion. I see what you mean and will try removing the red flower in the background. Not sure about the crop but I'll play with it. Thanks for your comments. Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Comment Very nice image, Jim! I like the crop that Piers suggested as it brings focus directly to the stairs and shadows and lines associated with them, but as Shirley mentioned, it feels tilted as that pipe rail at the top is bright and where my eye lands first so I would level up the horizon at that point. Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Comment Great image, Martin. The reflection in the mirror that captures the background of a gal dancing and looking directly at herself really makes this image impactful. The hair movement takes it up to another level. Great job! Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Comment Excellent high-key image! My only suggestion might be to remove that small branch that's pointing toward the left upper corner. Then I look at it again and think it adds balance. Not sure. If it were my image, I would play with it. Either way, it's a great capture of a majestic bird! Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Comment I find this image captivating and your choice to change it to monochrome was superb! I agree with Martin in that this image is all about shapes, lines and patterns. Well done! Dec 16th
2 Dec 24 Comment Great image, Shirley! You captured the detail in his feathers and managed to get the eye sharp. To me, it doesn't look as though you cropped too much off the bottom but perhaps made it a bit too dark and lost some of the detail in the reflections. Just my observation. Dec 16th

6 Dec 24 Comment I agree with what others have already said, however, to me, the balance of the size of your hand in the frame feels too close, or too big. I would encourage you to try different poses with your hand holding the flower. Dec 16th
6 Dec 24 Comment This is clearly a bead to be worn for Halloween! My only suggestion would be to turn the bead so that the nose is facing towards the bottom left corner. As it is, it's facing out of the frame. Dec 16th
6 Dec 24 Comment So very sorry for your loss of Lily. It's always so difficult to lose our furbabies. I'm sure you have lots of fond memories to keep her alive in your heart. Dec 16th
6 Dec 24 Comment Great image, Lori! Simple yet effective. At first glance I assumed you placed those seeds to make a face. How lucky to find it naturally. I will have to start looking more closely at dandelion flowers. Dec 16th
6 Dec 24 Comment To me, this image is all about lines and shapes. You did a good job in capturing the butterfly microscopically. Dec 16th
6 Dec 24 Reply Thanks Lori, for your comments. I prefer the portrait rather than landscape view, but I will crop a bit off the bottom. I feel that your crop makes the image feel cramped, but thanks for the demonstration. Dec 16th
6 Dec 24 Reply Thank you Charissa, I'm happy you enjoyed viewing it and I agree that it does have a holiday feel to it. Dec 16th
6 Dec 24 Reply Thank you for your comments, Melissa. I'm glad you enjoyed viewing it. I agree, a bit off the bottom might enhance the image. I will play around with it. Dec 16th
