I agree with Piers, in that the bottom window could go because of the brightness it actually pulls your eye down to it and away from the rest of the scene. |

I took everyone's comments into consideration and adjusted the shadows and lights, reduced the saturation on the background to a paler yellow, and omitted the smoke. I had another image that did not have the cloth, so I edited it as close to the original as possible. The setup is a bit off but you can see what it would look like without the cloth. Most stills that I've been studying, have a cloth of some sort included. I do think it adds to the image. |

I, too, think the B&W version of this image works better. I also agree with Piers in adding a bit of canvas to the top and viewers right. Nice pose with lots of concentration. I studied Yoga for 20 years and although this is not a difficult pose it does take balance and concentration to keep that balance. Nicely done, Martin! |

I like the psychedelic feeling of this image! It goes with the retro-ness. Great work! |

Nice capture of the male with his wings down and the female with her wings up. Not sure you could have planned that! Although I like how you worked the original by cropping out unnecessary elements, I'm not sure that the end result works for me. I see 3 distant layers: the water; the snow; and the trees. Perhaps cloning snow in place of the trees would both add the female's wings separation from the trees as well as get rid of the messy background. I would also try a lighten up the males eye a bit. |

Well, guess I'm late to the party! lol! Yes, I know exactly where this site is along A1A. It's known as the Tower here. Our camera club had a field trip there one evening, but for some reason, I did not attend. I like your image but as others have said, the newel post top on your image stopped me in my tracks. I really like what Gary did to preserve the window below by cloning out the post top. Very nicely done, Jim! |

Very nice image, Charissa! the focus and lighting are perfect. My only suggestion would be to add a bit of canvas to the top and bottom of the image. As it is, too me, it feels a bit cramped. Nice job! |

I like the crop you did on this image. It really brought out the details of this dove's face and breast feathers. Maybe try desaturating the greens a bit to reduce its obtrusiveness. Since you have such a hard crop, it also introduced a fair amount of noise into the image. LR's noise reduction should help clean that up a bit. |

The clump of grapes are perfectly arranged atop the mug. Even though it's b&w the grapes depict texture from the moisture, right down to the water droplets at the bottom. I believe the image would be stronger with more canvas added around the entire image to give the subject some breathing room. |

Fun image! Love all the lines and textures of the broccoli head. Choosing a reflective base was also a great idea. Who knew! Something so benign could offer so much. |

The details on the leaf are very nice, however, I'm not sure whether the background is reflection from the water or still a part of the leaf. I'm going to assume background. I really like the movement. It almost looks like you were using a zoom and spun the barrel a bit to get that movement. As background, maybe try a bit of separation from the leaf itself to help the viewer understand the image. I would also remove the stem that appears to be coming out of the center, top of the leaf. |
