What a cool ole barn! Yes, I agree the yellow is an odd color but that made it unique. It's great to capture a bit of history that may be gone before you know it. |

Love this image, Shirley! It reminds me of someone walking through a dream. Can't imagine the ticks or the chiggers that she may have gotten with those bare legs. Nice job! |

Hi Jim, your photo is great and your grandson peering out through the window reminds me of the "Polar Express" movie. Great job! I'm back in the digital group, but Group 2 was full so I'm in Group 6 Closeup Photography, which suits my flower photography. Hope all is well with you and your family and keep your head down for the storms yet to come this summer. |

Hi Martin, I joined back up as I needed a diversion from other life in general. Unfortunately, your group is full at the present time, so I am in Group 6 - Closeup Photography. I have looked at your image several times because it really brings a smile to my face. These guys must have been having a great time! I like your original, but this cropped version really speaks to me. Great job as usual! |

Thank you, Charissa, for the welcome and your comments. I actually had to go back into Lightroom to see if I had added a vignette, since it's not something I typically do. I had not added one. The only thing I can think of that would have given that effect is the natural surroundings of the mulch between my dahlia plants. |

Thanks so much for the welcome, Jim, and your comments on my image. I see what you are saying about the pink out-of-focus flower below it. I have been working on trying to add a bit of surroundings to my flower portraits so that they are not just a single flower portrait. Perhaps if there would have been a few more subtle pinks and maybe desaturated a bit, it would have shown better. Just having one, I guess, does cause distraction. Will keep working at it. |

Wow, Charissa, I didn't realize that so many different species were drawn to these Thistle plants. Nice composition as the two stem heads appear to be on different 3rd's. I like that you brought both stems down to one at the bottom and that it, too, is off-center. I'm curious as to where your focus point was, as you mentioned your goal was to draw attention to the flowering head, but my eyes are drawn to the sharper focus of the green bulb below the purple flower. Perhaps, that was your intention as I'm not familiar with the scale-like bracts. I will have to look that up. Lovely portrait of this thistle. |

Doris, I love your lighting and the warm glow of your image. The way you positioned the pepper in the triangle of light is superb, and the shadows create dimension! I can't think of anything that would improve this image so I'm looking forward to others' comments. Great job! |

Ruth, I love the simplicity of your image. Choosing high key with the dark red fruit was a great choice as the contrast clearly has the viewer's eye on the subject. I like your use of negative space but at the same time feel as though your image might be better balanced if the 3 berries outside of the saucer would be more on a diagonal to the viewer's left. Presenting in that way, I feel, would offer leading lines, a diagonal, and balance. Great image! |

Wow, Jim, this is a wonderful museum capture! The lighting is perfect with not one shadow anywhere! Your wife is very talented, too as the piece of pottery is gorgeous. Standing it on top of the piece of raw facing wood compliments the piece of pottery well as both offer their own textures to the image. My only question has to do with my eyes drifting to the center top of the pot where there appears to be some lighter dots. Not sure if that's in the pot naturally or if it's from a reflection from somewhere. Well doneâ⬦makes me want to see more of your wife's work as I do love pottery! |
