Great image, Martin! I love the mist from the early morning sunrise and how the light is kissing the tree tops on the camera left. The reflections, and the Temple almost glow from the side/back lit sunrise. Nice job! |

Nice effect, Jaqueline, I love the blue color of the sky. I agree with Piers in that a fair bit of the sky doesn't add to the image and I would crop it. Also, I would apply a gradient filter from the bottom up and use the dehaze slider and/or the shadow slider to lessen the haze around the trees. Isn't it great what we can find in our on backyards? |

Nice image, Hung. I do like the edits that Piers has done to lighten the background and clone out the extra legs of other birds. As others have said, seeing the entire birds would greatly improve the image. Flamingos are a difficult subject to capture as they are seldom alone or standing still. |

I love your sunflower, Shirley and the edits that you have done to the flowers. The petals are sharp and the way they fold on the camera left gives them character. Although I like the orangey/red background, I feel a disconnect as the sunflowers are front lit by what feels like high-noon and the background sky is a setting sun. Maybe instead of replacing the sky, think about adding a background or texture. Just my opinion. |

Great landscape image, Piers. Your edits have really brought out the beauty of this location. My only comment would be to consider cropping down on the sky a bit. There are sun rays that I feel would stand out more if there wasn't as much cloud cover above them. |

Great capture, Jim! My initial reaction was a feeling of dizziness, but when I focused in on the image, that subsided. I like how you raised the shadows on the bottom of the trees. As others have said, I would try to tone down the white clouds a bit. Actually, the sky's blue seems a bit saturated so perhaps if you were to pull back on the blues, the whites wouldn't stand out as much. Nice job. I have been toying with the idea of a fisheye lens. Your image reminds somewhat of that! |

Thanks, Piers. I've attached a crop version in my response to Jaqueline. I prefer my original image's crop as to keep the expansive feel of the vista. Nik is great software. In their many difference sections, one can always find something that just adds that special something! |

Thanks for you comments, Jaqueline. Although I agree that the captivating part of this image is the mid-ground, I feel that in cropping away the background hillside, changes the entire image and the expanse of what I felt while standing there is gone. In addition, since I've been studying a fair amount of landscape images and reading that a good landscape should have a fore-ground, mid-ground, and background. I've attached a cropped version to show the difference. |

Thanks so much, Shirley, for your feedback. I added a bit of Clarity & Dehaze in LR, used a filter in Viveza to give it more depth and removed most of the tree that extended into the mid-ground. I also cropped it a bit to fit a 16x9 landscape format. I really loved this vista and I feel this image is depicting what I saw while there. Thanks again for your comments. |
