Great, I'm glad that Debbie was able to provide you some direction. I do like the setting sun background that you applied. |

Thanks, Martin for the suggestions of working more with the shadows slider. I was able to bring out more details in the rust and wood of the tracks. As for the brown cast, I don't see it, but I did run it through Auto Tone in Photoshop. It changed ever so slightly. Good eye! |

Thank you, Piers, for your comments. I have a pretty good eye for leveling so I rarely use the Auto tool, however after both you and Martin commented on it, I went back and applied it. Wow, I was surprised at how much of a difference it was off. I think when something it captured on a diagonal it's tricky to know exactly which area to level. Lesson learned, always at least try the Auto Leveling tool. |

Martin, your final edits are suburb! Thank you for including the steps in your response to Shirley. I agree with you in that flipping it makes little difference. I wander into the frame from the bottom and up through the water to the power plant and finally the smoke stacks. You've shone an excellent example of what can be done in the world of editing. Wonderful job! |

Very lovely capture, Jaqueline. I love the Topaz effect that you used. I've used that one myself on some of my flowers. I might suggest removing the green stem to the left of the lily. I know you said you worked at trying to clone it back, but I don't think it's adding to the story of the lily. I also agree with Shirley in removing the green shrubby thing and perhaps cropping into a square. It's a great image with lots of potential. It just depends on your story. |

Nice capture. You didn't include your original or any details regarding camera settings, etc. I'm going to assume that you cropped it a bit. In that light, I would have liked to see a bit more space in front of and behind the guards. The third person's rifle is cut off and the first person's foot is almost to the edge. I agree with Piers that you should crop down from the top to omit the distracting light coming from above the steps. I love that you were able to capture them in mid-step, and the red caps set off the image. Very nice. |

Wow, Shirley, you worked magic on this image! Especially given the circumstances in which you captured it. I love it. Great job! |

Nice catch, Piers, both you and the osprey. You took a somewhat busy background and got rid of all the distractions. I'm not sure why you felt the need to flip it, because reading left to write the original would have one looking at the head first. Either way, the bird is looking back into the frame. I do like your choice of sky replacement. I have a friend that follows those tracking bands. I can't see enough of the lettering but if you have it, I'd be happy to ask her if she could tell you anything about them. |

Wow, you sure do like the St Augustine area! Are you sure you don't live here? I know this corner well. Before the pandemic, it was always standing room only, unless of course you came in the middle of the afternoon. Food is great here. As for your imageâ⬦you captured it very well, and between traffic, which is amazing. As you said, it is a very busy corner. I think i would turn down the heaviness of the oil painting texture, or at least mask it a bit, especially in the sky. It's a bit too crunchy for my liking. Also, the traffic light pole leads me right out of the image on the left side. Removing might be an option, but when you're back here, you might want to just include it. Not sure what that would look like, but it might be fun to work that corner some more. If you are ever here over the first Friday of the month, St Augustine has an open art gallery function throughout the city. Again, haven't been there since the pandemic, but each little gallery was open and they all offered light hors d'oeuvres. A fun night! |
