You certainly have a style, Martin! I love the expression that you captured in this gentleman's eyes. Personally, I would settle somewhere in between the really rugged look and the softened down version. I'm not a big fan of the crackly look, but just my opinion. |

Very nicely edited. I agree with Shirley in that you could pick that bit of seed from the rest of the image. Great eye for the details! |

Superb shot! I love the lighting on the buildings, the reflections and the story the scene tells to me. I agree with Jacqueline's suggestion on the closer crop on the left. Beautiful job editing, Shirley! |

Wow! I love the bright colors. What a cool experiment. My only suggestion might be to crop out some more of the hose at the very top. Beautiful work. Now I'll have to look for the 3D backing sheet at Michaels. |

Thanks, Harry. Glad you like the composition. I agree with you on the f/stop. However, my focus on this hibiscus was to get the stamen in sharp focus as I was hand holding my camera. I struggle sometimes with camera shake. I do need to slow down a bit a look at the flower as a whole, bringing all the important parts into focus. |

Thanks so much, Shirley for your kind words. I like your suggestion relative to selective sharpening, however, I really have never done it selectively. I watch a YouTube video and tried it, but I'm not sure that I can see a difference. What do you think? Perhaps you have a quick instruction for me as how to do it. I used Camera Raw and then used an inverted mask in PS. |
