5 Mar 20 Comment Pete, The image is very interesting but your story brings back thoughts of my time in the 70's. The first person I thought of was Arlo Guthrie. I had to play with the reduced highlights of the greens. I made a quick pass. I'm sure you could do a better job. Thanks for a flash back in time. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment Richard, Great detail and skin tones. The white polkadots are mesmerizing. The lighting enhances and highlights her hair on both sides without causing her skin tones to wash out. Well done. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment Mark, I do like all the colors in the image. The bright white icy spots are distracting to me and more emphasized in Oliver's emphasis of color/veins. Oliver cropped the yellow and light blue areas on the left side of the image. I agree with that. I did do a color selection and played with the white areas in a mask and clone stamped a random pattern in my attached image. I think the best way to eliminate the white areas is not have glare, reflections or too much light in those areas. You said you were looking for ideas but in an abstract anything goes. Great start on your project. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment Phil. Great colors in the image. The intensity in his face sets the tone for your image title "Determination". Well done. Mar 6th
5 Mar 20 Comment Great image Barbara. I do agree with Oliver on darkening the sax and hand but I did like his skin tone and shirt color in the original image. The area on the right side of the shirt in the picture below his collar and similar bright shirt areas to the left of his sax were the only areas I would have removed some of the luminosity. Mar 6th

5 Mar 20 Reply Oliver, I agree with your modification and separation of the two swans but I thought I may enter this image in a nature or wildlife competition. When I presented the digital image to our photo club I had good scores but not what I was hoping for. On my apple computer screen it looks great but when digitally projected it loses a lot of the impact and detail. I have not printed this image. I was waiting on comments from this group to see if I was missing an obvious flaw. If I were printing the image for sale or a non-nature competition I would incorporate your modification.

Thanks for your comments.

5 Mar 20 Reply Mark, I agree birds in flight usually don't get the extra difficulty factor added to their score when being judged. I was the only photographer of 6 in our group that had both birds in focus flying. I was zeroed in on the trailing bird and had several shots of that swan running on the water during take off before they were far enough to capture both swans in one frame without cutting off part of the lead bird. The reflections in the water are the wings of the swans. My camera focus point was centered at take off which caused the lead bird to be too far forward in the full size image. My crop could have been different but I did not want anymore on the left side but I could have selected more at the top.

Thanks again for your comments.
