Thank you Dan! Your words and advice are wonderfully helpful, constructive, and supportive. I appreciate your and everyone's feedback, suggestions, edits, and perspectives on my (and other's) works. It's very insightful to learn how my photographic experiences have been developing. I like that, and agree/feel an affinity toward that theme of "The Vanishing Point" that you described so clearly and eloquently. Thank you. :) |

Great edit Bob. You cleverly and creatively repurposed the original image so that it became something better image-wise, but also a different image/scene entirely. Kudos! |

Gorgeous shot and edit Cheryl. You captured the details of the skyline and buildings (especially the architectural details and illuminated windows) perfectly. The colors of the sky in the original image are a lovely combination especially when used as negative space. I would have never guessed that you replaced the sky, so kudos to you. I agree that I also like to have images look "how I saw them". I kind of like the original sky. It's colors are a soothing background that keeps the focus on the cityscape itself. I played with the original and noticed a few small ones low on the horizon between the 2 buildings on the far right. But those were the only ones I could notice. |

Great shot and edit Dan. I have never seen non-green clovers, so it's a delight to learn that they exist. Since Bob suggested perhaps playing b&w a bit, I edited the image just to see what it might look. B&W seems to bring more focus on the geometric shapes - but there are so many options b&w, it could go in a lot of other directions too.
I don't think the ferns are too bright perse. I think that your edit, Cheryl's edit, and Bob's edits (as well as the b&w version) all gives the image a different feeling/mood. So, I think it all depends on what your aiming for. |

Beautiful shot and edit Robert. You captured the details and texture of the canyon perfectly. I also like how Cheryl's and Bob's edits pulled out even more canyon details and shapes. Antelope Canyon looks wonderfully serne and magical. I hope to one day get the opportunity to visit and photograph it. |

Thank you Cheryl. That's a great edit. I like how you illuminated the one light. It makes it look more symmetrical in terms of the line/pattern of lights (which I always like). The next time I'm there at the station, which is frequently, I'll bring my tripod and remote shutter release, so I can play with the shutter speed and f stop more. I have a tremor, so that's why I tend to shoot at higher speeds when shooting handheld (so images don't come out blurred). |

Thank you Bob. I agree, it definitely makes Brooklyn seem less rough/dirty and more visually attractive. I like that Brooklyn has the elevated subway stations, as they get great lighting and can show off the cityscape in different ways. |

Thank you Stephen. I like your edit. I don't usually edit my photos into b&w. But I like how it's shows off a nice range of tones. It also emphasizes the geometric shapes of the different elements/part of the station. Great edit! It definitely makes me want to play around with more b&w editing. |

Thank you Robert. I like your idea of going a bit lower/closer to the cement platform. I'll have to try that out when I'm back in the city next week. That's also a great idea about checking on if any days/times align the sun on the horizon/vanishing point. Four times a year, there is Mannhattanhenge (next will be on July 11 & 12). The effect isn't quite visible from Brooklyn, but it looks very cool when standing in Manhattan or on one of the bridges facing west towards Manhattan. I'll actually be in the city on those dates this year to see it, so I'm very excited to bring my camera and capture the amazing light/shadows. |
