99 Jun 22 Reply I think I like cropped version #2. My vision does not flip up and down as much. Nice job Jun 2nd
99 Jun 22 Comment I love the rocks and the details showing in the water at the bottom of the image. I find the lightness of the sky and little detail to be distracting. My eye (maybe not the best) looks at the rocks but is being pulled to the sky. Perhaps cropping down lower? The long exposure is great and nice job on the editing t pull the details up in the rocks. 99 Jun 22 Comment I have also photo'd a lot of horses. I love when you can see the strength of their muscles and their overall lines. One of may problems with animal shoots in general is showing purpose or establishing a story in the image. I like Gerard's crop as it adds something extra. Could you explain why you flipped the image? I am always curious about flipping and why we think one way is better than the other. Thanks. Jun 2nd
99 Jun 22 Comment Very nice. Perhaps a little darker on the sky but I like the image. Perhaps because I get to spend time with my grandkids and I can imagine the look on this child's face as the horses thunder towards him. The mom and child's detail is great as is the blurring of the rest of the image. Is it possible to blur the rail leading to the mom/child? It would still be a leading line but not so detailed. Great image Jun 2nd
99 Jun 22 Comment I like it (and r/r stuff in general). Great title also. Leads me to imagine an old time steam engine passenger train cruising towards this nail plate. Will it hold against the pressure or let loose and cause a derailment. A classic Perils of Pauline type story. The thing I would potentially change is to lighten the top of the bottom right spike. Nice image. Jun 2nd
99 Jun 22 Comment Spectacular image. Love the details, the imagined colors, the lighting. Wow. Could you provide a further description of "inverting the colors"

thanks

99 Jun 22 Reply I agree with your suggestion in general and when I tried that it put the clock too near the right edge for me. I know I could "add" to the side of the image but I am trying to follow the basic rules of photo journalism. No editing. The other way to think of it (perhaps because I am a retired teacher) is that in a class their are always some who will not be interested in the subject at hand and the person on the right seems to fit that bill.
