Thanks for the comments, I went with this photo as I was trying to get across that farming is a tough livelihood. I brought up the texture to give it the coarse look and left the clouds as taken and worked with the image to get the feeling that this was in the past. |

Nice image. I like that the horizon line is blurred and not clearly defined. The detail in the islands is great. Flattening the water with the long exposure is great. I would love to have seen some fog misting the front of the islands but that is definitely beyond my current skill level. |

Great image, certainly looks like he's had a tough day. The details and texture are wonderful. I agree that perhaps lightening the background would help "pop" the image off the background more. Nice capture |

Creepy!!, sure glad the nun doesn't live in my neighborhood. I like all the texture and details. I find the drain pipe to the left of the nun a distraction and I often take them out in my photos of old buildings. The nun does not look like she was in the image but looks like added to the image. I don't know what is missing but something feels like its missing. Perhaps a very slight softening of the building? or of the Nuns image edge. |

Nice image, good texture, stands out from the black background. I find the stem distracting as it is soft but without the stem I think the image is degraded. |

This is a very interesting topic. Obviously if the photo is for documentation it should probably be presented "as is" with no changes. When the photo is an "artistic" endeavor changes should be allowed but, my opinion, the changes should be called out by the artist otherwise is it not a sort of plagarism?
I find the photo as presented very interesting, the detail, the texture, the sky replacement all add to make the image very captivating. If this was for a competition I think the sky replacement should be noted. |
