Once again, you have presented us with a very interesting image. As I view the image, there is almost too much going on. The main subject, as I see it is the front ram. If this image were mine, I might try in Photoshop to create a mask of that ram, reversing the mask to include everything but that ram, and add a light cyan color tone over all but the subject ram. This may add the needed separation of the subject from the background. Just a thought. |

This image has so much potential. I, too, like the subject matter and the total composition. I do believe that a little work in Lightroom and/or Photoshop can add value. As it is, the color tones are all so nearly equal that the Cannons seem to blend into the background. The cannons have a cool blue hue that pushes them back, while the background with a warmer yellow and green hue tend to push forward. Perhaps a deeper saturation of the cannons would help. |

Dale, there is so much that is good about this close-up image. I appreciate the diagonal line created by the stem. the placement of the bloom in the upper center/left of the frame, and the small bug. I do not agree that the bug is a distraction. It is that one "imperfection" that adds a new spark of interest. Japanese art places great value on imperfection. I have also learned to appreciate it. |

When I first viewed this image, I assumed you had used the Photoshop "Twirl" filter to create the swirl. When I read your description and realized that you had accomplished the effect by manually rotating the camera during exposure, I was surprised. Congratulations for creating such a good abstract in this manner. |

This, in my estimation, is a wonderful image. With the addition of your poetry, you show yourself to be a multi-faceted artist. I believe your choice to create the image in B&W and then add the blue toning adds just the proper mood to this photograph. Good work recording the lightning strikes. Did you give any thought to straightening the right collum of the large monument? |

Thank you for your kind remarks. Photoshop has progressed and added AI features that make removal of people and things a rather easy and quick task. Everything I have done to this image is in keeping with the PSA ethics standards for entry in Open Color competitions. |

No, this was not taken on a cellphone. It was my Canon R7 using a 24-105 lens at 105mm. It was a quick "grab shot" that I had little hope for until I started working with it in Photoshop. It started out as practice with some Ps methods I have been experimenting with. |
