87 Nov 24 Reply Dale, thank you for your encouragement. I no longer can be satisfied with the constraints of "traditional photography." I have no problem with those who prefer it, and greatly admire those who record wonderful compositions and beautiful light. I am enjoying my experimentation and (hopefully) artistic growth. Nov 11th
87 Nov 24 Comment Lance, Steven points out a fact that caught my attention. The upward direction of the ropes holding the net indicates that there is a bit of wind catching the net, yet there seems to be no movement in the trees. Wind, plus a fast shutter speed? Nov 11th
87 Nov 24 Reply Thank you. Please see my response to Steven below. Nov 11th
87 Nov 24 Reply Steven, thank you for your studied response. I really appreciate your evaluations. You have caused me to remember some wise words I have received from another. That is: "There are always two people in every photograph; the photographer and the viewer." It would be easy, but lazy to simply say, "I create for myself, and don't care what others think." But the fact that I have presented this image for viewing means I do care how the viewer receives it.
As I continue to learn and experiment with my art, I need you, and this entire group to give honest critiques of my work.

87 Nov 24 Comment A very interesting image. I don't mind that the building is leaning. You have added enough lean to assure the viewer that it is a purposeful effect. Nov 10th
87 Nov 24 Comment I wish I were sitting on that rock! What a relaxing scene.
I do wonder if the image would have been improved if you had raised the camera slightly to place the subject a little lower in the scene. I realize that you can't run back and rephotograph the scene. Perhaps a crop up from the bottom with some added very light darkening (burning) around the edges would help focus attention on the subject.

87 Nov 24 Comment I feel that this is a very strong image. As such, I agree with both Lance and Will.
I remember wise words I heard some years ago that said, "Never take advice from someone who has never done what you are attempting to do." So, remember that I have never done what you are doing. Nevertheless, I wonder what the image would look like if you had increased your shutter speed by a small amount so as to give a bit more definition to the wings while retaining some degree of motion blur.

87 Nov 24 Comment Lance, you cause me to stop and ponder. At first, I thought, "Why is he photographing an empty volleyball court?" Next, I spent some time trying to capture your vision for this scene.
Finally, I began to feel a sense of isolation and abandonment. I now feel that this will be at its strongest as one of a series of themed images.
I like your choice of crop.

87 Nov 24 Comment Thank you, Lance. Yes, a B&W conversion may work well. I will give it a try. Nov 3rd
