Thank you for your kind words. Yes, many years have passed since we lost our son, but the hurt never goes away. It remains hidden from most of our activities, but it is always just below the surface, waiting to come forward without much warning. |

I totally agree with the observation of others concerning the beauty of this image. Very well done. My only suggestion (and far from easy to accomplish) is the brightness of the water. As I look at the image, it is the water that first attracts my eyes. This is normal because it is the brightest element in the image. If this brightness could bed brought down, the birds would be more prominent. Nevertheless, what a beautiful Fall image. |

What's not to like about a beautiful rainbow? I realize that you were photographing through a window, and therefore had little chance to greatly change the framing of the image. I am far from an expert when it comes to rainbow photography, but I wonder if moving your f stop from f/4.5 to f/8 or 11, and making the necessary ISO and shutter speed changes might have sharpened the focus on the rainbow. |

Congratulations on a fine street photography image. I like the setting and the light. You did not indicate your camera settings, but I imagine you used a rather fast shutter speed. I would like to see a slower speed that would show some motion in the spokes of the bike, and perhaps the legs. All that being said, it is still an exelant photograph. |

Beautiful image. The foreground tree limbs and leaves in the upper center give the image a good sense of depth. I feel a sense of great peace when I view this river. It makes me wish I was in a small boat, gently drifting down the river with a fishing rod and reel in my hand. |

I really love and appreciate old barn scenes like this. Looking at this image also teaches me a lesion. My temptation would have been to work my way through the trees and brush until I could get a clear view of the barn. However, I can see in this image the value of staying back and giving the barn a sense of place.
Thank you. |

Lance, thank you for your continuing words of encouragement. The image, as presented is successful in fulfilling my original vision. However, both your follow-up critic, and the response of Will (above) have helped me to see that I could have looked deeper for a better vision. Steven (below) helped to re-enforce that possibility.
I bought the Dulcimer many years ago when I was In a very dark place in my life. Our youngest son was losing his battle with a terminal disease and I felt totally helpless to change the certain outcome.
As I walked through an outdoor craft show, I heard the simple, restful sounds of a Dulcimer being played. I drew closer to the booth from which the sound was coming and convinced myself that by buying the instrument, I could reproduced the soothing sound. I bought it, but found my attempts to produce the sounds that had brought me such a feeling of peace at the craft show were for naught. The dulcimer was relegated to the back of a closet for many years, and only recently brought out by my wife to place on a low cabinet beneath where our TV mounts on the wall.
Attached is the result of my new vision for the image. |

Thank you, Cindy. Next time you find yourself confined at home for whatever reason, spend some time looking for interesting objects to photograph and envision creative ways to display them. You will be surprised at what you can find. |
