This is an image that draws me to spend time looking. The longer I look, the more conflicted I become. At first glance my eyes go to the grape vine arching against a bright, white sky.
Next, my eyes travel down to the wires and cross bar at the bottom. Once there I focus on the straight lines and the rusting texture of the cross bar. Now my eyes do not want to go back to the vine. Why is that? Perhaps it is because of the large bright area of an empty sky. Perhaps the sky could be darkened.
Congratulations on not giving up on the day and searching for an interesting, yet simple image. |

You have allowed me to see something that I would not ordinarily see. Therefore, of great interest. Yes, the processing of the image can be improved as Lance has demonstrated. Thank you for showing me this through your creative vison. |

This one had me scratching my head until you later revealed the secret of how you did it. I had considered the possibility it was totally a computer-generated image. But you were much more creative than that. Well done. |

You have already received a number of very helpful reviews. I can only say, "I agree."
Your vision for this image, along with the suggestions made above is excellent. However, I can think of a different vision that would be more dramatic. Perhaps with the use of the radial filter, inverted, in LrC, add a large amount of darkening to all but the far end of the bridge and the bright light at that end. Don't over-do. This is my vison only and is not meant to suggest mine is better. |

Very nice image. This may be one of the best I have seen from you. (All of your images have been outstanding.) Yes, I would like to see it straightened, but it does not greatly distract from my enjoyment of the photograph. The small size of the woman as compared to the larger-than-life images in the store window, plus the seeming emptiness of the street lends to a feeling of loneliness. I can imagen any number of stories about this woman. Well done. |

This is a testimony to well developed and executed technique.
As described, this was a quick shot, and not a posed shot. The use of a very narrow depth of field forces the eye of the viewer to go directly to the well-focused eye of the subject. This effect is enhanced by the eye being framed by the hair on either side and placed near the right third of the image. |

I should have taken time to add my reflection in the water. |

Steven. Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I do not have a photo of a swimmer but did add this self-image. It does add an element of interest, though comical. I am not sure it is in keeping with my original vision.
