Thank, Dale. The great thing about our group is the good feedback each gives. I know that I feel it is making me a better photographer. |

This may be true for some cultures. I am thinking of some cultures as Japanese and Chinese. Could also be true of Hebrew culture as found in modern day Israel. |

Yes, I would remove the pillow. Sometimes I find myself concentrating so much on the main subject that I forget to scan the edges for distractions. |

Take a look at my last reply to Lance. Did I improve the image? |

Lance: This discussion has prompted me to take a second look at my image and to ask myself, "How can I improve this image with the current crop?" After considering the options, I decided the image works best by flipping it so that it reads from left to right. I also darkened all four of corners and sides to lead the eye toward the plant in the center. I will be to know if you feel the changes make improvement. |

Thank you for your comment. Yes, we often overlook the simple every day things. The challenge, as Lance has pointed out, is to find the best image presentation in what we see before us. |

Thank you! I do begin to see what you are talking about. I really like the third crop; the Japanese Print size |

Lance:
Thank you for your comments. I am interested in your suggestion. While not wanting to seem to be asking you to do my work for me, I would be interested in seeing exactly what you envision for this print. Would you be willing to demonstrate the crop you have in mind? In the past, your examples have helped me to learn. |

Steven: Thank you for your comments. I did darken the pillow, but perhaps more darkening would help. I will try that. |

Lance: You continue to challenge me with interesting concepts. I have seen similar images hung on a wall in a persons home, but have never thought of doing the same thing in a singe image. One thought: When I first saw your image I thought I was looking through a window with bars. Perhaps I was looking from inside a jail cell. Would the image work as well (better) without the white frame around each individual image? |

Jennifer: Once again you have presented us with a well done, relaxing landscape. The color and the sweeping lines lead my eyes down to the center point of the bottom third of the image. There I follow the curved road to where it disappears behind the hill. What lies around the curve?
The weight of the color and leading lines cause the image to be bottom heavy with little interest in the upper third.
But what could you do? Perhaps someone else will be able to help.
Still, I very much like this image. |

Dale: Great car! Cars can be difficult to photograph out of doors due to the many reflections in the shinny areas of the car. I like the angle you choose in that it shows off the car well and also deals with the reflections. I notice (nothing you had control of) that the tires of the car indicate it was driven over a muddy area prior to reaching the present location. It is strange that the owner did not deal with the issue if it is on display.
One thing does cause me a problem. The background greenery appears so detailed and saturated in color that it draws my attention from the front of the car. It may just be me. |

Steven:
What a very fine image. Great for B&W. The simplicity of the image and the play of shadows against the snow make it for me. |

Thanks Gary. Yes, I did a lot of background darkening and got rid of any flare. as for the baskets and ribbon, I may give that a try. |
