Thanks for the reply. Yes, my mother-in-law seemed thrilled. Her sister had come to be with her on her birthday and shared her excitement. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law was suffering from dementia and did not really understand what was going on. She did, however, recognize her sister and enjoyed the visit. |

Lance: Like Steven, I am intrigued by your image. And, like Steven, I sense an influence of your father. As I looked at the image I got the real impression of a sailing ship (perhaps a space travel?) What might appear to some as a pool que stick piercing a pool ball, became a compass pointing the way for an journey into the unknown darkness of space. That which appears to be some sort of ring or handle in the upper left suddenly became a distant planet encircled by rings of space dust. Maybe my imagination runs too fast and far, but I am sticking with my story |

Steven: Thanks for the comments. Notice that the original was in B&W. I m not sure color was even in popular use at the time. Yes, my father in law was strong and my mother in law was petite. As for the style of swim suit, it was probably a more modest look that went along with the much more modest woens bathing suits. Remember, Texas was in the "Bible Belt." |

Thank you for your comments. The suggestion for darkening the rim of the pot is appreciated. By the way, that is my wife's favorite plant. |
