Bob, I should have caught that and given you a chance to change the image. Please accept my apology. I liked it last month and I still like it. I'm going to have to get off the coast and do more wandering around the Rogue and Umpqua valleys. |

I like your composition in the way you have made the mountain top the primary interest point with the light highlighting it.
In my opinion the rest of the image is a bit too dark and doesn't bring out enough detail. I agree with Francois in that a smaller aperture would help to make the foreground sharper.
Overall I think this is a great shot. |

This is a tough one for me to judge Darcy, it's only 20 miles north of my house and I drive by it whenever going to the next town north of us (Yachats, OR) to my favorite wine shop. It's a favorite photo subject and pretty much everyone in our camera club has photos of it from all times of year and all angles. Considering the weather and that you weren't able to get closer to the edge I think you did a great job with this shot.
I like the composition with the tight cropping around the well and that you kept the water draining into the well as the primary interest of the show. I think you also did a good job of bringing out the rocks and moss around it. Nice job.
As I've learned living here on the coast, you always need to do a bit of haze reduction, especially on cloudy days, so I edited to do a bit of that. |

I like the composition in the way you have the driftwood tree in the foreground leading the eye into the image and back to the town and the mountains. It pulls me into the photo and then right to the notch in the mountains where the light is beginning show. I think doing this is B&W helps accentuate a sense of anticipation for the new day. Great job.
I'm not sure about the footprints in the sand as they don't seem to lead anywhere and therefore in my opinion don't add to the photo.
I admire B&W, and wish I could do as good a job as you show here. |

I like this shot. For me it creates a sense of calm with the lake backed up by the forests and mountains in the background. I think you did a nice job with the lighting and colors and I appreciate that you have kept good focus and depth of field. Except I agree with Francois about the branches coming in from the sides.
I'm not sure that the spit of land coming in from the lower left adds to the image so, I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty of cropping from the bottom (I used Francois's image as he had already removed the branches). What do you think? |
