This is a GREAT example of why I'm very glad that you are still in our group. I like your composition with the trees set as your primary interest point and then, in my opinion they are enhanced with the fog and the light that is picked up with the fog. The cloud formation in the sky go a long way in adding interest to the photo. And, I think the technical aspects of this photo are all done very well. I like it. |

I like this as a nice pastoral scene and for me it has a sense of relaxation. Technically I think you've done a good job as with the lighting, exposure and focus.
I agree that the composition would help with some cropping, from the left to remove the spool and from the top as I don't think there is enough detail in the clouds for them to add much. |

I think this is a great study in form and repetitive patterns. I also agree with Carol at to how this emphasizes the pillars and I like how the sea and sky create a nice background for them. Technically I think you did a great job with good exposure, nice color balance and sharp focus and depth of field. |

I like the soft relaxing atmosphere that this photo creates. I think your composition is good and I like the way you cropped it so that the white of the aspen trunks stand out to become the primary interest items. I like the colors as the white stands out against the soft colors of the leaves.
In my opinion I think you toning down of the green doesn't help as I like the way it provides more texture in the original image. I kind of agree with Francois in that this is the kind of image you either love or hate, but I'm on the fence. I don't really like it but I can see that it has a significant amount of appeal. |

Great shot Carol. I like your use of colors and the way you have the reflections in the water. I think your composition is good in the way you have centered the pond. For me this creates a very relaxing scene.
For me the scene does look a little busy with all the foliage on the sides. I was wondering if you might get a stronger image by cropping to bring out more of the center. I hope you don't mind but I did take the liberty to do some cropping. What do you think? (I apologize for removing your logo in the cropping). |

I'm jealous Tom, I tried to get close with a wide angle a couple of time but I never got anything worth showing. Like the others, I think you did a great job with this shot and you have, in my opinion, very good composition. I think the color and lighting work well and, of course, the focus and depth of field are spot on. I also like the people in the background as they help set the scale and add to the sense of a relaxed place. Good job |
