I very much like your use of colors and lighting in this shot. I think having the end of the path in the center being brighter and then having the light fall off towards the sides works great as it brings my eye up the path to the end. (I'll be seeing how I can incorporate that into some of my photos). The sharp focus and good depth of field work for me.
I do agree with the others that there could be a bit more exposure on the left side of the image. Still, a great shot. |

I like this shot Darcy, maby because it's like almost in my "back yard". I think you've done a nice job with the composition with the various rock formations and the surf between them adding texture. I also like your inclusion of the people as it provides a sense of scale and a bit of an interest point.
Haze is alway a problem with taking pictures on the coast. I comparing your original with your final it looks like you did a bit of haze reduction but could you have done more? |

I like what you've done using the slow shutter speed on the surf. I also agree with Darcy on bringing out the highlights on the mountains. I think your composition is good in how you have the streaks in the surf bringing my eye to the mountains, which I think are the key interest of the photo. Technically done well. |

I like this shot and I think you composed it well. I fully agree with showing it in the vertical format. I think the sharp focus and great depth of field is a big plus. The color contrast with the blue of the sky, the gold of the poplars and the grass in the foreground is great. And of course the clouds add a lot. The line of the stream leads my eye into the scene to the poplars which I think is really good.
It's not the picture you took but I wonder if you could have made a more interesting scene if you tilted the camera back a bit to include the tops of the trees on the left and eliminated a little bit of the lower foreground of the grass and stream. |

I like the way you have captured the sense of the crowded buildings in the skyline, which for me, projects the sense of a crowed busy city. I think your lighting is good and I see nice detail in the buildings. Technically I think you executed this photo very well.
In my opinion I believe that cropping to have the building as the singular interest would make for a more interesting photo. I hope you don't mind that I tried that. |
