I'm having trouble being objective regarding this image, as my wife and I were there last month and I'm asking myself "why didn't I think about going up there to get a great shot like this!". Instead I just went on the beach and took driftwood shots.
I like your composition with the curved line of the birm leading from the lower left corner into the frame. The busyness of the boat harbor is nicely captured and I think it complements well with the with the peaceful scene of the river. I agree with both Francois and Dawn that the sky doesn't add that much and perhaps cropping down from the top would help. |

This is an unusual shot and that is what is attractive to me. I really like the way you have used a slow shutter speed to soften the water, as as Francois noted provides good contrast against the hard lines of the pier. I very much like the blue gray tones of the photo. This image captures my interest, great shot. |

I like the way you have framed the building and have the blossoms in the foreground leading my eye up to the building, good job. The composition looks good to me with the blossoms in the foreground, then the building and then the green of the trees in the background, and I agree with Francois regarding the vertical orientation.
I do think the blossoms in the foreground are a bit overexposed and I'd like to see more detail there. |

I think you've done a nice job with this shot for the coloring of the sky and the way you have the hill and the ships silhouetted. I think your balance with the amount of sky and the amount of water shown works out very well. I do agree with Francois about the dullness of the water on the left, as compared with that on the right. |

I like the coloring and the lighting with this image as I think they add a level of calmness. For me your asymmetrical composition with the town and hill to the right and the left opening up to the sea is very positive. In my opinion you did a great job with the graduated NDF in balancing the light. I think the lights of the town at the base of the hill adds some nice interest.
I'm not comfortable with the expanse of flat retreating water in the foreground as I think it distract from the overall image. Otherwise, great shot. |
