I agree with Dawn in that I like what you did with the colors as it creates more interest in the photo. I think your composition is done well with the use of curving lines and, again agreeing with Dawn, I think you have good balance in the image. I also like the way the path leads my eye into the photo. |

I think the composition with the framing of the mountain between the two "bergy bits" go a long way in making this photo work as they draw my eye into the picture and help create interest. I like the high contrast of the colors and in my opinion you did a good job on the exposure with all that white. Nice going. |

I've been around quite a few mountains as in my younger days (a few centuries ago) I did a lot of mountain climbing but with this shot you sure have made Mt. Fuji look special.
I like how you have the mountain centered in the frame in a way which highlights its symmetry. I appreciate the lighting in the way it makes the top of the mountain what my eye is drawn to and the lower half of the image is an the dark side, thus for me, keeping the interest on the mountain. I agree with Darcy in that the foreground is a bit busy but in my opinion keeping it a bit darker keeps the busyness from distracting from Mt. Fuji. Technically I think you did a great job with this photo |

Paul, I like the composition with the people in the gondola silhouetted and the empty gondolas balancing it out on the other side. I think your lighting and focus is good with nice depth of field. The light reflecting off the water is a little too busy for me. I also think it could be cropped from the left side to eliminate that building roof half way up, which I find distraction. A good shot, but I have to agree with Darcy in that it's not your best. |

Welcome Francois, we're glad to have you in our group. And it's nice to that you start out with a really nice shot. Some of my bias is showing as living on the coast of the USA Pacific Northwest I see a lot of scenes like this and I am always trying to make my shots look as good as this.
I like the composition in the way you have the rocks framing the waterfall. The lighting looks good to me and I think the colors add a great deal to the image and I like the level of color saturation. I do think the waterfalls are a bit dominated by the rocks on the side, which make it hard for my eye to key in on what I think should be the main interest point of the photo. |
