I think this photo has good composition with the large mesa being a primary item of interest with the other rock towers in the background. The colors work well for me, especially with the rock color and the sky as a background. I agree with the others regarding the impressive nature of your photo stacking, great job.
I see what you are trying to do with the leading line in the foreground going back to the mesa However in my mind I think you have too much empty space in the foreground and it distracts form the main interest of the mesa and makes it look small. I agree with Darcy about cropping from the bottom but I would do much more so that the mesa will dominate the image. |

I think this is a very captivating shot and really projects a sense of winter that includes a warm shelter. I like the lighting and the reflections in the lake. For me the composition is very good in the way the lodge is nicely centered. I also like the contrasting colors with the bright orange light from the lodge against the cold snow, gray overcast and the dark of the surrounding forest.
I agree with Darcy in cropping from the bottom to eliminate that bit of snow while still keeping the reflections. I also agree with George in that the light from the buildings on the right, behind the trees, could be toned down as I find them distracting.

I find the dark coloring of this photo captivating. At first I didn't know how to reach to it, but the more I look at it the more I like it. I like the rivulet of water from the bottom leading my eye into the photo and then I like how you caught a reflection of moon there on the beach. For me your composition is spot on. You seem to have the rocks just visible enough to add to the photo, but they don't distract.
I haven't tried photographing that late at the beach, but now you've encouraged to go out and give it a try, especially as I live so close. |

I agree with Dawn in that I love the simplicity of this composition. I think you did a great job in using empty space. I like the separation of sea and the sky and I appreciate how you have the colors of the sky go from pinkish to blue as you move up the frame. I think your timing by having the moon just start to appear, with a lighter sky, is very effective. Great job. |

I like the way you have captured the sense of the fall and color changes that occur in our mountain areas. I think the layering of the different colors and having them move up the slope of the hill works well to bring my eye into the photo. Great shot.
However the colors look a bit muted to me and I think it would help the scene if there was a bit more vibrance in them. |

I like how this photo shows the complexity of a city skyline with all the different shapes of the buildings along with the old of St. Paul and all the new structures. It looks crowded and busy to me, but that is a defining characteristic of a big city. I like the broad daylight exposure which allows you to show the various colors in a vibrant way and I think the clouds in the sky are a big plus. For me the exposure is good and you have sharp focus with a good depth of field.
I think cropping from the bottom could bring more emphasis on the building and sky line without giving up any other elements of the photo. |
