For me this is a very strong image that demonstrates the immensity and power of these kind of storms. I think you have done the contrast well with the dark black and grey of the storm cell compared with the dull green of the field in the foreground. I believe that the darker colors and lighting work well to create an imposing image (my first impression was to "duck for cover"). I also like the simplicity of having nothing in the foreground of the field as, for me, it helps demonstrate the storm cell itself.
I do agree with Darcy in that I find the lightning on the right side distracting. |

I really like how you have used the morning light to create, to my eye, a texture with the lighted faces looking to the left and the shadows on their right side. I also think you have done a great job in showing the layers of colors in this scene. For my eye the lighting is on the soft side which I think is a positive for this image (however I agree with Dawn and I think the green could be a little less saturated). I see nice structure and depth to this image which gives me a sense of size and grandeur of the scene. Nice job. |

Welcome to the Oregon Coast Darcy, our clouds and fog are something that you just have to get used to, and really take advantage on our clear days. With that said I think you did a great job with a simple subject. I regularly walk by scenes like this without paying much attention but you have highlighted what I'm missing.
As with the others I like what you have done with the reflection along how you've worked the colors to bring out the different tones in the pond. To me you are using strong colors however they blend together nice and softly, which give me a more comfortable feeling.
I'm not sure what the driftwood on the bottom of the image adds and therefore if it is needed in your image. |

I like the simplicity of the image with the silhouette of the tree being the single item of interest and no other elements in the image to distract from it. In my opinion the symmetrical composition works well with the tree right in front of where the sun is rising. I also find the soft key greens of the hills very soothing and, for me, helps to keep my attention on the tree. I think you did a great job.

I like your composition with the moon in the upper corner and the diagonal line of the ridge line moving down and away from it. I see the lighting as being good and to my eye you have sharp focus and good depth of field. The color contrast of the blue sky with the red of the Sedona hills is very effective, however in my opinion I think the red is a slight bit over saturated. |
