I like the way this photo combines several elements and they all, in my opinion, work well together; the arch rock, the waves crashing on it, the birds resting on the top of the rock and the people on the beach. I think the color is well balanced, and I agree with Dan regarding the impact of the child with the red sweatshirt. For me the focus is right on with good depth of field. I am also impressed with the lighting as both the highlights and shadows seem to have good detail with no over or under exposed areas.

I have a positive impression of this photo. In my opinion the composition has been executed well with the division of the sky, mountains, water, and reeds in the foreground. I like the way the reflection of the mountains in the lake creates a point of interest. I think the color harmony works well with the blue of the sky and water; the white of the mountains and the browns of the reeds. Focus and over all depth of field works well for me.
For me their is too much of the sky and I believe the picture will be more balanced if the image was cropped down a bit from the top.

This image has a nice relaxing impact on me. I like the way the trees on the side frame the water fall and I also like the focus on the water fall in that it still conveys motion while not being overly vigorous. For me the colors are soft and work well together, adding to the "quiet" scene.
I perceive the point of interest to be the water fall and, in my opinion, it could be accented more by cropping down from the top so that the water fall moves up closer to the bottom "line of thirds" as I've tried to do. |

Jerry, I think this photo is a great study in the applications of colors. I like the way it starts at the top with the blue sky, then drops down to the orange and reds of, in my opinion, a brilliant sunset and then into the muted shadows of the hills. Your composition strikes me as well executed with a hint of the sun setting on the right side of the frame and then with the line of the hills tapering down on a diagonal to the left where I am impressed with the way they lead to the water on the lower left corner. I also like the way the "folds" of the hills are layered and then on the bottom there is the hint of the town. I think you created what should be a prize winning image.

Paul, I think you have done a great job with this image. In my opinion your "choice" of shutter speed creates a strong sense of the intense motion with the gaggle of geese becoming airborne while at the same time my eye still sees enough detail to know what they are. To me this is an excellent example of how a blur caused by a slow shutter speed is used to create an artistic sense of motion. I am also impressed with your use of the colors of the bright orange and blue of the sky in the background contrast with the darker colors in the foreground. I'm convinced you planned the shot this way all along and I think you did a great job. |

This image has a very positive impact on me and I think the composition is excellent. I like your positioning of the clematis bud and I think it makes a great point of interest. I am also impressed with the reflection of the Clematis on the surface below it and I believe your use of the water droplets and their reflected point of light each contains strongly compliments the overall image. For me your focus is tack sharp throughout and I really like the way the colors work together. |
