Very nice image of a back country road versus the sterile view from the interstate highways. It reminds me of the prairies of the midwest where wheat fields extend forever. Well done Ed. |

Very well done Peter. I like the perception of a leading line of the boat sheds as they decrease in size due to perspective. This draws my eye across the image in a pleasing manner. |

An interesting abstract John. I like it but cannot decide why. An excellent image to contemplate over a cup of coffee. |

I stitched 3 exposures together as I had the camera oriented vertically and cropped the resulting panorama down to its current proportions. The distance to the river is a lot less than it appears and I wanted as much detail as possible with as little distortion from the wide angle lens that I used. |

Thank you Lance, I appreciate it.
I don't know what size the file is when it is displayed on the PSA site. Both the IR and the color versions were submitted at about 900 Kb. I personally don't see any pixelation but the IR version may have suffered from needing to reduce the file size from its original 350Mb tiff file to the 1Mb jpg file. The original tiff file is composed of 3 IR images that were stitched together and post processed with NIK Silver Effects Pro. The choice of film emulation may produce an enhanced grain effect which can look similar to pixelation. I do appreciate your observations. |

Well done Ed. I'm not sure about rendering this image in black and white but I agree with Jeff about possibly being closer with some part of the truck. It would be fun to experiment with different close up views. |

Really nice composite image Paul. Personally, I really like the massive moon being framed in the upper branches of the Joshua tree. |

Great color! I envy your location as everything where I am at is dull brown slowly being covered with snow. |

Very nice shot and excellent choices in the post processing. The cascading water does lead my eye through the composition and the contrast between the leaves and the shadows is a plus. For a vertical composition, I think that you would need to zoom in from the 28mm used here to eliminate what you cropped out and focus in on the detail of the rocks along with the bright leaves.
I tried to simulate a vertical image with an extreme crop of your original to portray the view by zooming in and adjusting the brightness of the water. Unfortunately it pixelated badly in my attempt but that would be avoided if zoomed in before exposure. |
