Thank you Paul,John, and Ed for your kind comments. The "hot" spot at the top is the sun trying to work its way through the clouds. To me, it is an integral part of the print and doesn't detract much from the rest of the image. For those that find the electrical wires a distraction, try enlarging the image and examine the various pieces of fishing tackle dangling there. |

I have always enjoyed seeing the convoluted shapes that coastal trees produce due to the effects of weather and salt spray. These conifers remind me of the live oaks along the eastern shore of Virginia and Maryland. Personally, I think the tree trunks are a bit dark but the contrast with the clouds makes the image work. Well done Ian. |

I like the tonal range and tonal balance in this image. Very well done with masked and unmasked curves. I like that my eye follows the foreground snow bank across the image and mimics the shape of the mountain range in the background. Your attention to detail and texture throughout is amazing Peter. |

Well composed and exposed John. It is nice to see the history of a local railway being maintained. |

A very intriguing portrait Paul. Her gaze is locked onto something to one side that is holding her interest but does not alarm her. It makes me curious as to what a conversation would be like with her about whatever it is she is a witness to. |

I would like to see the original color image to get an idea of the amount of work involved in getting both the wood grain and the reflection in the remnant window glass to prevail in the finished image. Excellent final product, there is nothing that I can suggest to improve this. |

Another beautiful still life Ella. Your patience to stack 39 images is out standing. This is a fine example of a white on white image, selective focus, and a simplified composition that directs the eye to the center of interest. Congratulations on a job well done! |

Very well done Paul. I assume that this eagle was perched across the river and a long distance from the road where you had stopped. Hopefully your granddaughter got to see one in flight. |

A nice image with a lot of elements. You might try using a polarizer filter effect from within NIK Color Effects Pro to reduce the appearance of haze due to the high humidity. You might need a slight increase in contrast also. The reflections add an element of symmetry that I like. |

Interesting to see the northern lights as a background to the Purppppppppppppple! A happy happenstance is the result. It would be fun to watch you try to color correct the mercury vapor color cast. |

I like both versions of your image Jerry. I have had colors go absolutely crazy with long exposures on slide film (probably due to reciprocity failure) that were impossible to correct when printing on cibachrome. Your colors here resemble my results then. The 2nd image (1.5s exposure) is also good but , to me, lacks the drama of the longer exposure. |

A very interesting abstract of the sandstone Dan. The various lines of color within the rock along with the shadow lines that outline the cracks form a different kind of contrast that I like. Both sets of lines lead my eye in different directions and allow me to enjoy the visual play of going back and forth. |
