To be honest, I don't have either the skill in photoshop nor the patience to add IR clouds in post. It would require separate layers: 1 for the clouds in the sky and 2 an inverted set in the reflections on the water that are correctly angled with the lighting. #1 would be easy enough. #2 is beyond my reach.
I do agree the clouds would add a lot and I appreciate the feedback. Thanks. |

No offense taken, I am looking forward to everyone's comments to improve my prints. For this particular image I was more interested in the reflections. Infrared reflects differently than visible light (not just a different angle) as water absorbs infrared energy more efficiently. I was surprised at how much more did reflect from the trees farther away than the lone tree on the right. Tonally, to me, they are about the same but a lower amount of the infrared light is reflecting from the near tree and none from the near bank on the left.
I agree the crop does balance the image better. I will need to work with the detail extractor in NIK as I am not familiar with its use. Definitely something for me to learn. |

I like your asymmetric composition of the rosettes above the arches and their reflections. very well done. |

Thank you for the compliments. The birds are in the other half of the drainage behind me and rarely leave. Also, in infrared, birds usually come out black (unless they have white feathers like tundra swans). If you continue to experiment with IR, remember infrared is viewed as heat - think of the "heat lamps" used by fast food restaurants to maintain temperature. Green leaves absorb energy from sunlight, warm up, then give off the energy as heat which is recorded as white. |

Thank you for the clarification. I am familiar with the NIK software as I use the older version from Google and Photoshop CS4. I am going to have to experiment with Detail Extractor as I do not remember seeing it in my older version of the software. Thanks. |

Very well done for first time infrared. I like the composition of the fence line with the drama of the clouds. I noticed that you use Topaz DeNoise, do you recall if you used the "Clear" adjustment also? |

I really like the mid-morning light where the shadows extend across the bottom of the image while having the building in the foreground sunlight. The peak in the background is impressive on its own.
I am not familiar with the abbreviations CEP and SEP. Could you explain those? |
